February may be the shortest month but it was a powerful one here at Mountain Heritage Trails! We were at a cross-road: continue fulfilling the trail & memory work with random blocks of time and resources or begin to establish a sustainable framework and take this work to a higher level. We decided on the latter and, not only did we incorporate in the State of West Virginia but today, we applied for nonprofit status!
For those of you who have and continue to support us, thank you! You’ve done so out of deep generosity and investment in our mission and goals. Soon, (fingers crossed), your financial contributions will be tax deductible!
The benefits of this classification will further propel our mission and vision which inevitably relies on financial support through individual donations as well as grants and awards. Please share with us those financial resources you feel are good fits for this project to apply to. We are developing a list of potential grantors now because we are pretty confident we’ll be awarded nonprofit status soon.
